Our Commitment to the Earth
Tequila production processes are the most industrialized among all agave-distilled beverages. In the United States, Tequila competes with Vodka and Whisky in sales.
In 2023, production reached 598.7 million liters, followed by 464.2 million liters in 2024.
While this growth is beneficial, it poses a significant environmental challenge due to the large amount of waste generated for each liter of tequila.
Traditionally, this waste has been managed through methods like littering, composting, or chemical treatment, which provide limited environmental benefits and overlook the potential for resource recovery.
Cuemái addresses this issue by transforming agave waste into sustainable, biodegradable textiles, thereby reducing environmental impact and creating economic opportunities for farmers
